Paranormal events remain a popular subject among the media. The great mysteries behind such events easily catch the attention of the viewers making directors and producers millionaires in no time. Charmed didn’t make it to No.1 for nothing. However, this list contains none of those girl powers and the attractive witches of Charmed. Ghost hunting has long evolved from candles to EMF detectors which make things more exciting and more convincing to watch. Here are the top paranormal shows you should start replaying:

Ghost Adventures. Ghost stories should not be scary all the time.  If you are fond of Scooby Doo, then this will definitely suit your taste. With beefy men screaming like a bunch of high school girls every time they see a sort of ghost, you can’t help but laugh out loud at their reactions. Well, ghosts really give people the scare, but most of us expect big men to have that macho effect. If you want to look into the realms of the ghost world, this is a good find, minus the screaming of course.

The Othersiders. Cartoon Network made a great change by casting kids to do ghost hunting. It’s like Dexter’s Lab again, with the kid’s high-end ghost hunting equipment. The story is somewhat similar to the Ghost Hunters, only with a younger cast. The Othersiders are composed of five teens willing to uncover the secrets of the spirit guides.

Destination Truth. Here, a team lead by Josh Gates goes around the world to investigate truths about paranormal encounters. They interview locals and gather evidences around and bring them back to the United States for analysis. The team is split into equal groups and will try to experience the phenomenon first hand. They use thermal heat cameras and capture sounds. Sometimes they arrive at hoaxes or something really paranormal.

Ghost Adventures.  If you want some live ghost action, then this show can give you that. Zak Bagans, Nick Groff together with Aaron Goodwin explore the most haunted places around the world. Three men lock themselves up in the location documenting the trip with just their cameras. This show can really send you goose bumps when they start fighting ghosts and ward off spirits in many encounters.

Paranormal State. This show has a lot of positive and negative reviews but many people love it for its spookiness. Ryan Buell and his fellow students embark on a journey to help people with possessed family members. Although sometimes the effects are too good to be true and Buell himself is too self-conscious, the show still became the third most watched series in its network. Forget about the controversies surrounding the paranormal activities and Buell’s own demons. If you’re looking for a scare of a lifetime, you’ll simply have it in this show.

Paranormal shows become phenomenal not just because people want to enjoy being scared and experience spooky stuff. Perhaps there is something hidden inside them that wants to reach out with the “other side” to the unknown and occult world of the spirit guides.
